MATCH PREVIEW CHELSEA VS LIVERPOOL - PREDICTED LINEUPS WITH CHANGES AND EXPERT PREDICTIONS

MATCH PREVIEW CHELSEA VS LIVERPOOL - PREDICTED LINEUPS WITH CHANGES AND EXPERT PREDICTIONS

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says his team will have to beware "world class" striker Diego Costa when they play Chelsea on Friday.
Costa scored twice in a 2-2 draw with Swansea on Sunday, taking his tally to four goals in as many league matches.
German Klopp said: "He is a real warrior on the pitch. He uses his body all the time and that is a quality. He was nearly unstoppable against Swansea.
"He is world class and that's the best thing football fans can say about you."
It was at Stamford Bridge that Klopp enjoyed his first victory as Liverpool manager, beating the Blues 3-1 last October.
But Klopp, who described new Blues boss Antonio Conte as a "great manager", said Chelsea were a different team to the one which struggled under Jose Mourinho last season.

Klopp added: "They've seen us playing and they know we are not easy to play and that is what I thought most about in the last two days and what I will think about because there is always a way to create moments which you are not expecting.
"The problem is they maybe have the same plan.
"They were champions two years ago and then had a difficult year and they changed their manager.
"Last season was not a Chelsea season and now they are back on track, so we need to be ready for a real challenge."
Chelsea, second in the league and unbeaten in the league under Conte, will be without captain John Terry after the defender strained ligaments in his foot against Swansea.
David Luiz, who re-signed for the London club from Paris St-Germain in the summer, could replace the 35-year-old.

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head
  • Chelsea have only beaten Liverpool twice in the last nine league meetings at Stamford Bridge (W2, D3, L4).
  • This is the 175th competitive fixture between the clubs. Liverpool lead by 75 wins to Chelsea's 61, with 38 draws.
Chelsea
  • Chelsea could record three successive home wins in the Premier League for the first time since May last year.
  • Relegated Aston Villa were the only side to earn fewer home victories than Chelsea's tally of five in 2015-16.
  • The Blues have scored at least two goals in each of their opening four league fixtures.
  • Diego Costa has already scored four times - it took him until Boxing Day to reach that tally in the Premier League last season.
  • Antonio Conte has won his last 21 league games at home as a manager, and not lost in 30 since Juventus were beaten by Sampdoria in January 2013.
Liverpool
  • Liverpool's tally of 32 points from their last 17 games is only bettered by Manchester United (34).
  • The Reds have scored an unrivalled 50 Premier League goals in 2016, managing three goals or more in eight matches.
  • However, their only clean sheet in 12 away games during this calendar year came against Aston Villa in February.
  • They could go nine away matches without a clean sheet in the league for the first time since May 2005

To be played on Friday 16th September 2016 at 19:00. Venue: Stamford Bridge, London
Odds: Chelsea 5/4, Draw 5/2, Liverpool 2/1
Liverpool head to Stamford Bridge on Friday evening to take on Chelsea in their latest Premier League clash.
The Reds will be buzzing after their 4-1 victory against reigning champions Leicester City last time out, while Chelsea will want to get back to winning ways after drawing 2-2 with Swansea City courtesy of a late strike from Diego Costa.

The recent results mean Liverpool are sixth in the table with seven points from a possible 12 while Chelsea are second after dropping their first two points of the campaign.
In early team news, Liverpool are likely to be without Emre Can – who is lacking match fitness despite returning to training – while Mamadou Sakho and Joe Gomez are both ruled out.
As for Chelsea, they cannot call on John Terry or Kurt Zouma, meaning summer signing David Luiz looks set to make his second debut for the Blues at the heart of their defence.

Chelsea predicted lineup

  • Thibaut Courtois
  • César Azpilicueta
  • Gary Cahill
  • David Luiz
  • Branislav Ivanovic
  • Eden Hazard
  • N'Golo Kanté
  • Nemanja Matic
  • Oscar
  • Willian
  • Diego Costa

Liverpool predicted lineup

  • Simon Mignolet
  • Nathaniel Clyne
  • Dejan Lovren
  • Joel Matip
  • Philippe Coutinho
  • Jordan Henderson
  • Adam Lallana
  • Sadio Mané
  • James Milner
  • Georginio Wijnaldum
  • Roberto Firmino
  •

    Prediction

    • Chelsea failed to make their dominance pay against Swansea and somehow ended up drawing the game 2-2. That would have been a disappointing performance to take for Antonio Conte's side and they will need to get their heads up when they welcome a Liverpool side full of confidence.
    • Jurgen Klopp's side were in breathtaking form going forward against Leicester and they will want to put David Luiz under pressure from the off in his second debut for the club. They are unbeaten in their last three competitive matches against Chelsea. Their defence remains a real cause for concern, having failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last six league matches.
    • Chelsea have only managed to keep one clean sheet in their last 11 league games, which suggests there could be goals on offer for both teams on Friday.

What are the new Premier League rules?yellow card for taking a penalty wrongly,no Red card for Penalties...

What are the new Premier League rules on intimidation, offside and penalty run-ups?

EVERYTHING you need to know about the new rules around referees in the Premier League.
The International Football Association Board (IFAB) have made nearly 100 alterations to the game which will come into force in the Premier League for the first time.
It follows the FA Cup allowing an extra substitution in the three final rounds if they go to extra-time on the recommendation of IFAB.
The biggest changes will be concerning players surrounding and abusing the referee.
Anyone running to contest a decision, arguing face-to-face with officials and players using 'visibly disrespectful' actions will be booked.
Players will also be sent off for confronting officials and using insulting/offensive language or gestures.

Has the offside rule changed?

Partially. The halfway line is now neutral, meaning to be offside you must have a part of your body (expect hands or arms) inside the opposition half.
Free-kicks awarded for offside must also now be taken from the spot of the offence.

Can you stop in a penalty run-up?

You can stutter but you can't stop. A penalty-taker who slows to a stop before shooting will now be booked and a freekick will be awarded to the other team

How has the kick-off changed?

Previous laws meant you had to move the ball forward into the opposition half from kick-off, typically with two people standing over the restart.
But now the ball can be kicked straight back - as it was at Euro 2016.

Can you now be sent off before kick-off?

Yes. Referees can now send players off in the tunnel or even earlier if a red-card offence is committed outside of the 90 minutes.
The period in which players can be sent off will now start at the referee's pre-match inspection and end when he leaves the field after the final whistle.indirect free-kick awarded to the opposition.

Can you be sent off after conceding a penalty?

Not any more. Teams will no longer be triple-punished for an accidental foul in the box that results in a red card and therefore a suspension.
An accidental foul that denies a goal-scoring opportunity in the penalty area will only result in a yellow card. The penalty effectively restores the goal-scoring opportunity so a red card is seen as too strong a punishment.
As the amendment states: "When a denial of a goalscoring opportunity offence is committed by a defender in the penalty area, the penalty kick effectively restores the goalscoring opportunity so the punishment for the player should be less strong (e.g. a yellow card) than when the offence is committed outside the penalty area. However, when the offence is handball or clearly not a genuine attempt to play or challenge for the ball, the player will be sent off."
A deliberate foul or a handball however will still result in a straight red.

Do players still have to leave the field for treatment?

No. If a player is fouled and requires treatment as a result of a yellow-card or red-card challenge, they will not need to leave the field to be seen to by a physio or doctor.

Can the fourth official let players return to the field of play?

If a player leaves the field to change his boots, the fourth official may check his new equipment before allowing him back onto the pitch.
Before the referee had to come over and permit his return.

Can managers give away a free-kick?

Yes! Free-kicks and even penalties can now be awarded if members of the team, playing or non-playing, off the field of play cause the game to be stopped.
Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone was sent to the stands in April after a member of his backroom team threw a ball onto the pitch during a La Liga game in an attempt to interrupt an opponent's attack.
To address what was threatening to become a growing trend, the law has been changed so that if play is stopped due to interference from a team official or substitute, rather than the award of an indirect free-kick or drop ball, the referee will now award a free-kick or penalty kick to the opposition.

 Handballs

In an effort to stop referees brandishing yellow cards for every handball, "preventing an opponent gaining possession" has been removed from the list of bookable offences.
Handball is now a yellow card offence when "it stops/interferes with a promising attack".

 Player behaviour

Referees have been urged to take a stronger stand on "intolerable behaviour" by players following a joint statement by the Premier League, English Football League and FA.
Running to contest decisions, arguing face-to-face with officials, and "visibly disrespectful" actions will result in yellow cards.
Red cards will be issued to players who confront officials and use insulting and/or offensive language or gestures towards them.
The aim is to "reduce disrespectful conduct such as aggressively challenging decisions or running from distance to confront an official."
A complete breakdown of the amendments to the laws of the game can be found on FIFA's website.

Are they working?

The first match under the new regulations saw Hull take on champions Leicester.
The promoted side took the lead but just after half-time, referee Mike Dean adjudged Demarai Gray to have been bundled over in the penalty box and awarded the Foxes a controversial spot-kick.
However, the Hull defenders made no protest to the referee, suggesting players will heed the new rules on referee intimidation.

EPL 2016-17: Swansea 2 - 2 Chelsea - Player Ratings

EPL 2016-17: Swansea 2 - 2 Chelsea - Player Ratings

The 2016-17 Premier League season lived up to its reputation as one of the most unpredictable in the world as we saw Swansea and Chelsea and Swansea share the spoils at the Liberty Stadium in a roller coaster of a match.
The Blues completely dominated proceedings and took the lead through Diego Costa but two mistakes in two minutes from Thibaut Courtois and Gary Cahill saw Swansea turn the game on its head – equalising through a Sigurdsson penalty and a howler from Gary Cahill which Leroy Fer capitalised on.
Antonio Conte’s men did equalise as Costa scored a wonderful bicycle kick but Chelsea fall two points behind leaders Manchester City who beat Manchester United 2-1 on Saturday .
Let’s take a look and how the players performed.

Swansea City

Lukasz Fabianksi – 7.5/10
The goalkeeper showed some indecision by not claiming a high ball which led to Diego Costa's opener. He did make up for it by denying Hazard with a great stop minutes later and a great save on Oscar’s long-range effort in the second half.
Saved a flurry of late efforts including a Diego Costa effort to get Swansea over the line and pick up a hard earned point.
Kyle Naughton – 5.5/10
Provided a decent option going forward and although he found it difficult to deal with Eden Hazard, he did as well as can be expected when faced with the diminutive Belgian. It wasn’t a terrible outing for the Englishman.
Federico Fernandez – 5/10
The Argentine was booked as well for a tackle on Costa. Fernandez found it difficult to handle the Chelsea striker all afternoon and was constantly on the backfoot. Regrouped well along with Amat to guide Swansea to a draw at least.
Jordi Amat – 5/10
Amat was booked for a late aerial challenge which left Costa on the ground for a few minutes. He kept getting into tussles with Costa and was probably a little lucky to not be sent off. Defended stoutly against late Chelsea pressure despite conceding an equaliser.
Stephen Kingsley – 6/10
The young Scot was moved to left-back from centre-back as Swansea switched to a back four late in the first half. He gave a decent account of himself throughout the game and has made a good claim to be the manager’s first choice left-back.
Neil Taylor – 5/10
After a subdued start to the game, the left wing-back was taken off late in the first half as his manager decided to make a tactical switch. Taylor was clearly unhappy with the decision and let his manager know it.
Sung-Yeung Ki – 5/10
A few decent moments and some tidy passing for the Swansea midfielder. He did well to break for Swansea and relieve the pressure after their two goals.
Jack Cork – 4.5/10
The game completely ran past Jack Cork as he was overrun by the Chelsea midfield and was overshadowed by Fer and Sigurdsson.
Leroy Fer – 7.5/10
Fer received the first booking of the game for a late challenge on Diego Costa when the Spaniard looked to set Chelsea off on a counter. He was able to play a great pass to set off Barrow which led to Swansea's penalty and followed it up by harrying Gary Cahill and scoring to send the Liberty Stadium into raptures.
Fer looked like a different player after this and was a constant thorn in Chelsea’s side by threatening on the counter attack.
Gylfi Sigurdsson – 7/10
Sigurdsson was Swansea’s brightest spark in the first half, driving his team forward whenever possible. He earned and converted a penalty to bring Swansea level around the hour mark and continued to impress.
Fernando Llorente – 4/10
An anonymous performance from Llorente was he was handled with ease by Terry and Cahill. He looks like a shadow of the player he was for Athletic Bilbao.
Substitutes
Modou Barrow – 7/10
Barrow was brought on just before half time to provide Swansea with greater incision going forward. He was able to do exactly that as he latched onto a long ball and led the counter-attack which got the Swans with a penalty. He was a real live-wire and fully justified his manager’s faith in him.
Angel Rangel – 5/10
Rangel came on in the final minute for Sigurdsson as Swansea looked to close out a draw and did his job.

Chelsea

Thibaut Courtois – 5/10
The Belgian was comfortable for the first hour of the game but gave away the penalty which led to the equaliser and was then beaten two minutes later by Leroy Fer. Didn’t have a whole lot to do other than and will be relieved that he only received a yellow card for conceding the penalty.
Branislav Ivanovic – 7/10
The Serbian looks like a reborn man as he put in yet another impressive display from right-back. Great going forward and solid as a rock at the back. It was his crosses that eventually led to both of Diego Costa’s goals.
Gary Cahill – 4/10
A nightmare moment for the English centre-back as he allowed Fer to get the ball off him and score to give Swansea the lead. He was quite solid other than that, but the fact of the matter is that he cost Chelsea 2 points. He must be fearing for his place following David Luiz’s return to Chelsea.
John Terry – 6.5/10
A commanding performance from the Chelsea captain, yet again. He must be quite annoyed to drop two points after being well in control of the game and Chelsea will need him to shore up the backline in the weeks to come. He was booked for a challenge on Fer and went down with what looked like an injury towards the end of the game.
Cesar Azpilicueta – 7/10
A solid performance from the Spanish left-back as he supported Hazard down the left while ensuring Swansea had no luck down the left flank. He had a shot which might well have doubled Chelsea's lead in the first-half if Fabianski had let his concentration slip.
N’Golo Kante – 7/10
Kante might just be the most shrewd signing of the summer as he lived up to his new moniker - 'The Rat - hustling and harrying the Swansea midfield and ensuring Chelsea always had him available for a pass. He is now an integral member of the Blues' midfield.
Nemanja Matic – 7/10
The big Serb absolute ran the midfield for the Blues with a commanding performance. Was always there to break up play and was extremely tidy in possession, keeping the Chelsea team ticking. He was brought off for Cesc Fabregas as Chelsea hunted for late goals.
Willian – 6/10
It was a performance filled with energy but not the final product from the Brazilian. He kept the Swansea team on their heels but wasn’t able to make the most of the numerous crossing opportunities and set-pieces that came his way. He was subbed off for Victor Moses towards the tail-end of the game.
Oscar – 6.5/10
He laid on the opener for Diego Costa but faded in the middle portions of the game. Started getting into the game again when Swansea went ahead and provided a good spark although he did waste a few good opportunities.
Eden Hazard – 6/10
The winger mesmerised with his dribbling but like Willian, he lacked a final product. He drew a great save from Fabianski in the first half and got past players time and time again, but really should’ve done better. He picked up a yellow card for the benefit of the team, stopping Barrow on a counter late on.
Diego Costa – 8/10
He is quite simply the hottest striker in the Premier League today. Diego Costa scored a peach of a goal in the first half when Chelsea were under pressure to put the Blues in control. He was booked yet again for a sliding challenge on Leroy Fer and missed a great opportunity to double Chelsea’s lead late in the first half.
Then came his moment of magic as he scored an overhead kick to equalise for Chelsea.
Substitutes
Fabregas – 5/10
Fabregas wasn’t able to find a killer pass like the last time Chelsea were chasing a game but he did add an attacking dimension after coming on for Matic.
Michy Batshuayi – 5/10
The youngster wasn't abe to replicate his super-sub heroics from the games against West Ham and Watford.
Victor Moses – 5/10
Moses looked bright after coming on for Willian, but like the Brazilian, he lacked a final product

Who will benefit better Barcelona or Real Madrid in a straight swap between Messi and Ronaldo

There as been argurments for a long time on who is the better between the two standout footballers of this decade, here we are looking out which of the there teams will benefit better in a straight swap deal involving there star players Messi or Ronaldo.
 ALL STATISTICS COURTESY OF WHOSCORED.COM
We first take a look at how Messi can fit into the Madrid team
trivalfootball.com

1.MESSI AT REAL MADRID
If  Lionel Messi gets a chance to play for Madrid today he will walk straight into the First team and will likely occupy the right side of the attack in the usual 4-3-3 formation accustomed with real Madrid with bale moving to the left side assuming Ronaldo is already at Barcelona .
So how does this little magician cope with the style of play of Real Madrid and how does he form a Partnership with other players already at the club.

Real Madrid's Style of Play

  • Take a lot of shots
  • Attack through the middle
  • Attempt through balls often
  • Short passes
  • Possession football
  • Rotate their first eleven
  • Non-aggressive
  • Opponents play aggressively against them
With a front three of Bale, Benzema  and Messi , we have a BBM from the formal BBC with this formation Madrid will win more matches than they use to win with the previous BBC especially against teams that sits behind and form bodies behind the ball, one area Messi is better than Ronaldo and the other front two of Bale and Benzema is his dribbling accuracy, he will attract more fouls because of these in dangerous areas and win more penalties than Ronaldo the partnership will also be something that can be relied upon for the next few years with the fact that Messi is two years younger than Ronaldo. Bale and Benzema will also score more goals as Messi creates more chances for this teammates and generally bring them more into play than Ronaldo as we had seen for a few seasons now with Suarez and Neymar
2. RONALDO AT BARCELONA
If Ronaldo also gets a transfer to Barcelona he will walk straight into the Barcelona attack in the usual 4-3-3 formation and will form a deadly partnership with Suarez and Neymar
So how will Ronaldo cope with Barcelona style of play

Barcelona's Style of Play

  • Short passes
  • Control the game in the opposition's half
  • Attack through the middle
  • Possession football
  • Attempt through balls often
  • Rotate their first eleven
  • Opponents play aggressively against them
As stated above Barcelona loves short passing game which we refer to now as tiki taka and loves to control the ball in the opposition half striving the opposition of the ball Ronaldo will bring more goals to this Barcelona team than they use to get when Messi was in the team because he takes more risks than Messi and has more hunger for goals than Messi albeit disrupting the passage of the free flow passing game that Barcelona are know for because most time he will try taking his chance even when the passing game is still supposed to be in motion thereby scoring more goals .
There is also likely to be a decrease in the number of goals both Suarez and Neymar contributes to the team because of the more direct approach of Rolando than Messi which will see Ronaldo score the bulk of the goals for Barcelona.
CONCLUSION
We think a direct swap of Messi and Ronaldo will benefit Real Madrid the more giving the fact that Messi still has a more years at the top than Ronaldo and he can adapt more to Real playing style compare to Ronaldo adapting to Barcelona style at Madrid.

Liverpool raised a few eyebrows when they agreed to pay Southampton around £34 million for the services of capricious Senegalese winger Sadio Mane over the summer. Klopp had identified the pacy star as the perfect fit for his system, but many thought that the price was too steep for such an inconsistent player.
However, after Mane’s performance in Liverpool’s breathtaking 4-3 win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, many doubts about the Senegalese’s compatibility with the Anfield club have been blown out of the water. Mane scored a stunning goal and contributed massively to the considerable threat posed by the Reds’ frightening front line.

Initially deployed through the centre as Liverpool’s most advanced player, Mane struggled to get into the game at the start of the match as Jurgen Klopp’s side failed to impose themselves on Arsenal. The Gunners were the team pressing highest and creating the most chances, whilst the visitors looked disjointed and unfamiliar with each other in attack.
There were some examples of Mane’s prowess in the first half, showing flashes of pace and strength, with Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny struggling to knock him off the ball on a few occasions. But overall, he suffered from a disappointing first half from Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Then Philippe Coutinho’s free-kick changed everything. Suddenly Liverpool were all over Arsenal at the start of the second half, and Mane played an important part in their second half demolition. His pace and movement, as well as the threat of running in behind created space for the likes of Coutinho, Wijnaldum and Firmino to dominate Arsenal, as Liverpool surged into a 3-1 lead.
FINISHING WITH THE MOST TACKLES 6, MOST FOULES WON 6. MOST RECOVERIES 8, MOST DRIBBLES 4 AND A RATING OF 8.5 from whoscored
Aganist burton in the League Cup he had an outstanding performance that emphasised the £30million spent to prise him away from Southampton could prove money well spent.
His first-half statistics here soon went viral.
Four key passes. One assist. 44 touches. 88% passing accuracy.
All told, Mane ended up having a hand in four of Liverpool's five goals.
The undoubted highlight, though, was the fleet of foot that set up Divock Origi's opener and left Damien McCrory having to pay to get back into the stadium.
Aganist Spurs he came out with although not outstanding but still respectable stats
In scoring against Leicester, Sadio Mane did what he did the last time he played at Anfield, though this time thankfully it was in a Liverpool shirt.
The start of this season has been all about the Senegalese, his pace and direct style making him an instant hit with the Reds faithful.
He fully deserved the fantastic ovation afforded him by the 53,075 inside Anfield as he departed in injury time, a job well done by the man who as yet to lose a game as a Liverpool player  he completed the most number of dribbles an had a Whoscored rating of 9.5 in fact according to the statistical website Whoscored, he has an average rating of 8.12 one of the best 3 in the league this season.

Jose Mourinho slams referee Clattenberg and under-performers after derby loss

Jose Mourinho slams referee Clattenberg and under-performers after derby loss

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has slammed under-performing players and referee after their 1-2 loss to Manchester City in a very highly anticipated clash.
Mourinho have started Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Jesse Lingard ahead of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial as the decision proved wrong by the end of first half.
The Red Devils were completely outplayed for the first 40 minutes as Pep Guardiola’s side looked at ease despite playing at Old Trafford. The Citizens were two goals ahead before Zlatan Ibrahimovic pulled a goal back going into half time break.

Both Mkhitaryan and Lingard made way at half time as United came back into the game strongly in the second half and dominated at spells which the fixture even but they couldn’t find a goal throughout the half despite their impressive counter attacks.
Mourinho feels that two big decisions went against Manchester United as they should have had two penalties in the second half. He beleives Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo went in on a rash tackle on Wayne Rooney and Nicolas Otamendi handled the ball in the box later in the game.
‘I think the first half they were much better. We started to win back. We started the game with players below the normal level,’ he said after the match.
‘We need to be sharp the way we think, the way we play. We had a few players below that level and we were made to pay.
‘The second half was completely different. We were in control, much more dangerous. We had chances to equalise.
‘I have two or three players in the first half who if I know what was going to happen I would not play them. Sometimes players disappoint managers.’
‘I am disappointed with the decisions of Mark [Clattenburg].

‘Outside the box [Bravo’s challenge] is a free-kick and a red card. It was a penalty.
‘The second one [Otamendi ‘handball’] also is a penalty. He knows the cross is not going in his face but to his back.’
The loss meant Manchester United have now lost their first game in the Jose Mourinho era and would like to maintain their form after their hard-fought loss to Manchester City.

Claudio Bravo lucky not to concede penalty - experts

Claudio Bravo lucky not to concede penalty - Ian Wright

Manchester City keeper Claudio Bravo was "lucky" not to give away a penalty in the 2-1 win against Manchester United, says Ian Wright.
Wright believes 33-year-old Bravo, who has replaced England's Joe Hart at City, should have been punished for a second-half challenge on Wayne Rooney.
"It's is a penalty. His studs are up," Wright told Match of the Day.
"He jumps in off the ground. He is out of control of his body. It is reckless. It wasn't given and he was lucky."
Bravo was signed for £15.4m this summer which signalled Hart's departure to Italian club Torino on loan.
But Bravo, making his debut against United, was also at fault when he dropped a free-kick with City leading 2-0, which allowed United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic to score.
"The way Joe Hart was jettisoned from the squad, I'm thinking Claudio Bravo must be unbelievable," said Wright.
"He has to catch it or punch it and doesn't do either. The communication has to get better. For me, that is terrible."
He added: "I fancy City for the league this season but with him in goal, especially off today's showing, he's going to give people a chance."
