Before the game, rumors were flowing in that he wouldn't be starting but justified his inclusion with an assured performance making a terrific save from Son which might have chanced the face of the game and was more assured with his set piece handling, fully deserved clean sheet.
Nathaniel Clyne – 7.5
The full back has seen an unusual dip in form in recent weeks but was back to his best here combing very well with the man on fire(mane) an assured performance from him.
Joel Matip – 8
Since his return from injury, Matip has uncharacteristically struggled a bit but he had an almost perfect performance dealing with Kane and offered an outlet moving forward.
Lucas Leiva – 7.5
With Lovren out this man was again told to deputies he didn't take any risk with his clearance and defended well, missed a great chance to score a goal that has eluded him in the league for a long time, came out with what look like an injury
James Milner – 7
Nothing fancy, nothing flashy just a professional performance for the make shift left back.
Jordan Henderson – 8
When you play against the Midfield generals of Tottenham and come out on top in that battle you must have done something special, Performed well against the likes of Dembele and Wayanma it was an all round display by the skipper shielding the defence and providing excellent passes to start the attack
Adam Lallana – 8.5
With him on the verge of signing a new contract, he produce a spirited performance and on another day could have gotten on the score sheet with mane's pull back
Georginio Wijnaldum – 9 (Man of the Match)
A wonderful performance from this man, he got back into the team at the expense of Can and he will not be giving that back anytime soon with the type of performance he displayed, his pass to find Mane for the opening goal was exquisite and was never tired in Midfield, the main engine room for the Liverpool team.
Sadio Mane – 9
Mane’s absence when he left for the African cup of nations started a downturn of fortune to his team while he was winning games for his country, Senegal at the cup of nations Liverpool were really missing him and his first start at Anfield since his return was marked with two well taken goals and could have had an hat-trick if not for the brilliance of Loris some might even argue he deserves the man of the match.
Philippe Coutinho – 7
Still trying to find his feet after a spell on the sidelines he was tidy against spurs but not at his natural best,got into some openings in which he had a chance to hit his shoot on target he either failed to take the shot or missed the target with it, thinks he needs a goal to get back his confidence.
Roberto Firmino – 8.5
Speaking after the game, Klopp had a personal word of praise for Firmino, saying: “I don’t think I’ve seen a better performance from a striker without scoring.” he was relentless in closing down and being the first outlet of defence with this sought of performances the other strikers will be behind him for a while.
